Mary Wollstonecraft, the unconventional English writer, philosopher, and advocate for women's rights, was born two hundred and sixty-six years ago today. She wrote novels, treatises, a history of the French revolution, and children's books. Her personal life included several relationships that were unusual for her time. She died at age 38 giving birth to her second daughter, the author Mary Shelley. After her death, her husband William Godwin published an open and honest memoir of her life, which devastated her reputation until the late 20th century, when her works were embraced as important feminist influences.
This ride felt surprisingly good. Maybe I'm making progress. I signed up for the metric century of the Wine Country Century in six days, with similar climbing to today's ride, so I should be fine.
The stretch of Mulholland from Skirball climbs about 400 feet in 2 miles, the hardest part. After descending to Encino, the climb back up Sepulveda and through the tunnel was no problem, if slow. I only started to feel very tired halfway down San Vicente.
Today I rode the hybrid, because the Domane is in the shop getting a tune-up and new bar tape. The hybrid is a bit heavier, but has lower gears. Mostly I miss the drop bars.

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
