Art by Dave P; Ride by David, Kathleen, John, and Andrew Kelley and Dave P http://www.strava.com/activities/134502810 3.4 miles Drawing Only 32.6 miles Full Ride For those too young to remember, Sweet Polly Purebred is the girlfriend of ”Underdog” a popular American cartoon character from the 60's and 70's—This drawing was planned for a nearby cemetery because the roads were so suggestive of this image. Some off-road excursions were required to make the details of Polly’s face and I had to use a little finesse, walking the bike with light steps between the graves! The cemetery spectacle was even more amusing, because I made this ride/drawing with 4 other cyclists, a family, (David, Kathleen, and their two boys, 10 and 12). The Kelleys were eager to try GPS art riding, and I invited them to join me because these quiet roads were perfect for younger riders! At only 3.4 miles, this is one of the shortest drawings so far, and we ate lunch at an outdoor café afterwards. It was a perfect spring day, and David and I enjoyed an additional 30-mile ride looping around Arlington.
