Biggish day today to get over the mountain range and into Bosnia. There is border control between Croatia and Bosnia because Bosnia is not part of the EU. But the road between the two countries was very quiet. No trucks - just the odd car, yet it's a really good highway. Bit strange but suited us fine. Lots of wild horses in this desolate area. And they seem to like defecating on the road - there was plenty of it.
Similar to inland Croatia there are empty houses everywhere in different stages of decay - alot of it related to the Yugoslav wars but we haven't worked it all out yet. Great riding day. Our gear was soaked from yesterdays ride but we managed toed to get it dry in our apartment last night and the forecast for solid rain today never eventuated so all good. Food and accom is cheaper again over here. $NZ70 for a swish 2 bdrm apartment in a quiet street and $nz26 for rump steak with fries and veges. Yummo.
