Missing the last 5 Wednesdays in a row because of weather. 5 of us regulars and newish this season- Josh M, were eager to ride! Dad brought the peloton in for him to ride! He did good until about mile 25, when the wind picked up he bonked, fell off the draftline. Me, Dad, Dr. Woody, Dave S., and Brian M made up the regulars. Regardless of the threat of a monster storm on the way I was happy to see everyone show up! When it hit us we were all tucked in tight, taking what pulls we could out front, I know I was gassing! A huge gust hit us from the side and blew us apart like the big bad wolf! I was all over the brakes! Thanks to the veterans in the group, Dad and Woody made the decision to head straight into it!! Ten minutes later we're getting pelted with the biggest hardest rain ever! Dad knew of a barn, out by itself at the next crossroads. Josh reached in and popped the lock and we took up refuge. Its a ride I will never forget. Brian had his wife come pick us up in his big ass duely truck! 6 bikes and me an Woody in the bed, 4 dudes a wife and a kid in the cab! haha! I love cycling.
