mostly dirt and gravel ride from Chehalis to South Bend. Started off swinging south to Boistfort and into Pe Ell, beautiful mostly car-free roads. Got onto the trail which was primarily mud, gravel, and packed leaves from Pe Ell to Raymond. from Holcomb to Raymond SR 6 has a good shoulder and has good visibility, so I rode on the road since the trail was so slow. I tried to make it onto the "M-line road" and come into South Bend, but found a gate and a gnawed on deer at the entrance so decided against a solo trip into the woods. South Bend and Raymond are your best resupply points here, since there are (essentially) no stores between Raymond and Pe Ell, so make sure to refill your water in Raymond or South Bend. The ride back was nice and slow, so I again went onto SR 6 at some points, but the trail back from Pe Ell to Chehalis is packed gravel and pavement, so it's worth it to have the car free ride. Beautiful ride with as many fall colors and birthing calves as you could want.
