What a beautiful, beautiful day for a rider in the country. The flowering bushes are in profuse bloom right now . The sweet scent of the chokecherries, the unmistakable scent of the lilacs. Even the pines, lacking flowers, spread their aroma in the heat and the new leaves on the Balsam Poplars waft their sharp tangy perfume as you ride by. We enjoyed some delicious ice cream at Crossmount which we found out is purchased from Twin Peaks near Warman, good on you Crossmount. After our ice cream we went looking for a way back across to Strathcona, and we found a way, but I believe we ended up on some private property so don’t follow our route! The roads are in great shape, even the north base road is nice, just a few soft spots and some tolerable washboard. If you can, grab your gravel bike and “get out there!”, this weekend.
