Fuel EX 9.8. Sunny and mostly clear at the start then clouded up mid ride, comfortable temps around 70, West winds @ 5-10 mph. Plenty of cars in the parking lot, saw 2 other riders out on the trails, which were in perfect shape, moist and tacky but no mud. Rode the West trails first then took the South bound trail on the East side. I saw a rare site near the end: a small fawn laying on the trail, I thought it was injured at first but it was playing possum, no sign of it's mother. I think it was only a week old or so and I'm sure the doe was hiding waiting for me to leave. A first for me as well, I rode over 3 log ladders on the Fuel - I usually chicken out unless I'm riding on the fat bike. But no problems so I think I'm finally over my fear of crashing. Great ride and the legs felt good and I had a decent average speed. Stopped at The Assembly for a lunch salad and a couple of pops before heading home.
