Ride the proposed 2020 World Cycling Championship final lap in Martigny Switzerland. Filmed in October 2019. The lap that the pro riders will have to do a jaw-dropping 7 times. featuring the leg-breaking, lactate inducing climb of the Côte de la Petite Forclaz with a terribly steep midsection with grades hitting 16% and staying deep into double figures for much of way up. There is a reward at the top though with an amazing nearly dead straight descent back down to the city of Martigny past the flanking vineyards resplendent in their autumn colors, with its one single hairpin bend this road is visible for miles arround. The rest of the lap takes us through the city center and out to the apple orchards that populate the valley floor before looping back to the near-dead straight road to the finish.Notes for the riders - The recce ride starts and ends roughly where the proposed finish line will be before the town's old Roman Amphitheater. There is a small 300m section of the proposed course that could not be filmed due to road works, this comes at the roundabout after 900m into the ride, it would have taken you through an old part of the town, we have taken the main road that runs parallel to this.
