Jim S leads us on a guided tour of Uxbridge before an unguided tour of the Uxbridge College car park. We eventually find Swakeleys Park, Ruislip, Northwood and Morrisons at Watford, where we have elevenses. We head sort of north towards Cassiobury Park and Hunton Bridge. At Kings Langley we cross the Grand Union and climb up to Bulstrode. Our lunch stop is at Blackwells, Chipperfield. We arrive as about twenty Watford cyclists are leaving. Will there be any food left I think to myself. Yes, and the service is pretty good. We head home through Sarratt and Chorleywood. By Heronsgate it's just me and Jim, a muddy farmyard and a silent prayer that my bike doesn't grind to a halt. We arrive at Uxbridge in the dark. I have barely thirty lumens up front, enough to be seen by, and switch to a hundred for dark alleys. A great ride, if a bit chilly.
