Recovering from COVID late August and wanted to get some late summer/early fall rides in before the weather changes. Traffic getting to the park via Auburn in the morning was an absolute nightmare and getting home via Puyalllup was not much better. Can't let that affect my ride.
So I parked inside the gate and left a sandwich, water and extra battery in the car if I decided to attempt it twice. Good plan but terrible execution. Beautiful day and stunning views. No assist for the first 4 miles, then L1 for the 12 miles of climbing and then no assist to the top. Battery at 68% and really a decent descent traffic wise. At the 4 miles to the car, I decided I could go back up without getting the spare battery, food and additional water. Bad bad decision as I went to level 2, and ran out of battery, food and water before i had made the 12 mile climb. Borrowed some water at the big observation round about and an orange from some nice people. Long day
