It is the first major bike ride for the year for NW bikers. And yes, it is hilly and chilly and rainy and this year snowy. But it is a right of passage each year and I wait till the morning of the ride to decide whether to ride it or not. Last night, we had 2-3 inches of snow and there was a winter storm advisory out for Bainbridge Island. No brainer, not going to do it. At 7:20, I get a text from one of the spin instructors that they were going to do the ride so "game on". Turned out that the weather was beautiful with blue skies. no rain and no more snow except for on the shouldiers of the roads. Hundreds of bikers from Seattle that catch a ferry boat as part of the adventure. Great ride but some of the hills are short but steep and nasty. Data: Used 50% of the battery. Stayed in level 1 for most of the ride and level 2 on some of the hills and level 3 for the hill at mile 20. Not as much crowding at mile 20 as in the past.
