Seems like we get only one day a week that is worth biking in. Today was the day. Overcast and cold to start but finally the sun came out and the temps got into the 50's. Plan was for another 60+ day with elevation and achieved that. Forgot to turn on my Garmin so missed the first 2 miles of day. Still experimenting with getting comfortable with long rides and hills and need to start doing back to back rides. Changed out the saddle and finally getting the shoes with new SPD cleats dialed in. Was formally accepted into the Montana ride that start June 17 so only have 60 days to get ready. Paradise on Mt. Rainier is still closed due to snow with the exception of Sat and Sun. I can dress for the cold but sharing the road on the weekend when there are no shouldiers other than 10' snow banks doesn't seem very smart. just have to be patient. Suppose to open sometime in May for weekdays.
Plan for today was to head to Gig Harbor first and approach Vashon from the south. Cold start so I headed north. Once on Vashon the plan was to go do hills on Maury Island but those changed. Then plan was to bike Fox Island from Gig Harbor but that got changed. So I settled for Olalla and step hill on Banner. Still ended up with 44% battery
Data: Previous ride to Vashon was based on running level one even when not needed and eventually ran out of battery. Today was to ride with no battery until absolutely needed.
