Only day this week that the weather looked good so Mt. Rainier was calling. Tonight after I got home, it has been lightening and thunder with heavy rain so good call on going today. Rode with Skip and this is his first ride on Rainier in over a year. He rides with a spare battery and not trying to minimize battery useage so he is obviously faster in the climbing under assisted pedaling. In all the years I have biked Rainier I have never seen such light traffic and the road was in exceptional condition. I expected cut snow banks on the shouldier and/or a lot of sand or gravel from the winter season but the shouldiers were cleared of snow and the road looked like it had been swept. So it was an overall great day on Rainier with blue sky and light winds. Thought about doing a second trip from Longmire to Paradise but my legs told me otherwise. Data: Level 1 from Longmire to Paradise and then turned the battery off. Returned with 68% battery for the 12 miles of climbing.
