I went after a brief rain passed through and was surprised how much of a mud-fest it was. My chain was getting pushed off repeatedly and I felt like I was carrying 5lbs of mud everywhere I went. Nice area with great views for mountain bikes, but I can't recommend if you're on a gravel bike like I was. The elevation gain didn't look too bad and the meadow sections to the north were nice. However, the Lincoln Mtn Trail loop is a lot of loose rocks and crossing rocks placed for erosion control. The twisty / western portion of the Palmer Divide Ranch loop features root drops and technical rocky sections that my bike just did not have the clearance for so I ended up having to walk the bike more than I hoped. Area was not crowded and doesn't seem especially well known. There's ample parking and a couple porta-potties.
