Joyful Kayaking 25S2, Assabet River to Crow Island

(Shortened paddle because of impending rain and heard thunder - got boats in car just before a gentle rain started.) Got to try out the cool EZ Launch boat launch at Ice House Landing that we'd originally seen while biking on the Assabet River Rail Trail! Lovely CALM river, warm & cloudy, lots of birds (Swallows, King Birds, Kingfishers, GBH, Robins, Crows, Redwinged Blackbirds, etc). As we approached Crow Island the weedy growth in the river got worse & worse - then we heard thunder, so good idea to turn around. Beautiful evening, didn't see anyone else. Ruth, Joy, Mary, Sue and Johanna (arrived late & caught up as we were returning).
End of "paddle" is a bit extended because I forgot to turn off recording while I went back & forth from boat launch to car with kayaks & gear.)

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
