Pete led today's ride that was new to the rest of us. Joining Pete; myself, Rick, and Brian drove to the trailhead of the Erie Lakawanna Rail Trail in Crown Point IN. I had high hopes after a frustrating drive because EVERY ROAD HAD CONSTRUCTION OR A DETOUR!! But once at the beautiful trailhead, all was good, even the weather. Starting just before 9AM, besides Crown Point, our route north went through Merrillville, Schererville, Griffith, Highland, and ended in Hammond. We turned around at 13 miles at the Indiana Visitor's Welcome Center. The center has a tribute to the film "A Christmas Story" that was filmed in Hammond. A nice paved and fairly flat trail, it is certainly one we want to ride again and add the few miles we missed. An EPIC ride! Stay safe everyone!
