Summer soaker series ride #2 with the Gravel Grinders of TN following their “35 Plunder Reverse” route. The pavement is around 45% on this route, which wasn’t too bad on my hardtail. But it was a hot and humid day with a mid-morning start and an an early afternoon downpour for about 10 minutes along the Piney River with about 7 miles to go. There were creek crossings on Sugar Creek next to I-40, then some afterwards on Beaver Creek, but none that really provided a summer soaker.
