Great pace... at apx mile 11, fast 2 track down hill dropped the seat, sat back haulin ass. Almost bottom front wheel slipped in deep rut, cleared the 1st hole almost cleared the 2nd, front wheel found a bigger hole that the 29 rim could not pass over. threw me off did the flying W into the wood. Body glanced off 1st tree, Crushed helmet, back and ribs hit a 2nd tree gps shows 21 mph, how hard I hit seens alot faster. Tore my new jersey lots of tree rash on back and arms, cracked ribs both left and right side, knocked the wind out of me. Gathered myself up. DNF was not an option...rode another 14 miles, had to finally had to stop breathing was tough. My new Coros helmet is programed to call if it senses a hard blow...thank goodness my wife did not answer...although it did go to voice mail....Mad at myself..irresponsible.
