Costa Rica day8

Just stunning! Crossing Rio Caño Negro is possible but because of the 2ft water level at the deepest and strong currents, safest way is to carry panniers and bike separately. The other 4 rivers are no problem. If you follow my route, after bridge over Rio Chiquito left turn, will regard you with quiet roads and stunning views but be ready for some big inclines. Turning right will take you along the lake with less hills but much more traffic. Your choice! Happy Riding

When you pass Rio Chiquito bridge, you have option to go right by the lakeand over Tronadora to the Tilara. Road is easier but busy with locals and hords of tourist busses rushing to the Montaverde. Option that I did is much harder but no traffic and the views are amazing. Be ready for some pushing as inclines are up to 25% on the losse gravel. Good bless adrenalin junkies!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
