Epic ride for the books...just not the Epic I planned...new rear wheel & cassette for my Specialized...put it together and off I go ....
Rear wheel came off going up on Capital Hill (Vancouver not Washington)....then a flat tire in front of a Daycare and as I sit on the sidewalk replacing the tube young lad comes out of the Daycare and asks me..'Don't you have a home?' Yes I reply..'Why are you on the sidewalk?'
After explaining I'm not homeless but in fact repairing a flat tire the lad seemed satisfied and we both went our separate ways.
5 blocks later, another flat in the same wheel. Sit myself down on the sidewalk and notice the rim strip had broken and exposed a sharp area . I use cardboard garbage on the street to protect the new tube from the sharp edges
As I place the new tube in the wheel well and fit the tire , I break in half one of my two tire levers...
I'm going home......
