Titled after the fifth track to Chris Robinson Brotherhood's 2017 album, "Barefoot In The Head", this pedal is Trek #5 of the BITH series. Feeling a little nostalgic about my time spent among the San Francisco Randonneurs back in the day, so when I had opportunity to take an appointment with my tax preparer in Novato over the Monday holiday, I followed it up with an afternoon ride on roads it had been awhile since I have seen them from pedaling vantage point (I could swear I rode Wilson Hill Road in the exact opposite direction a few times back then) on a sunny & blue sky day. Despite a weak wish to have retrieved arm warmers from back at the lodging, I went without and just "powered through the chill". A note to self, however: Pack them anyway, especially on February days! Will remember golden poppies and signs for artisan cheese ("Marin French"!!!) for a long time after this excursion.
