Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Hello Miss Garcia. Thanks for commenting. This ride was actually a more in the moment ride focused on testing a bunch of repairs I made to my bike just before the ride. So I was just more "into the bike" paying close attention of any adjustments I needed to make. But, to answer your question for non-maintenance rides, my rides, especially my multi-day tours or full day rides are probably a combination of both, but the percentages will vary ride to ride. Since I'm a RWGPS Ambassador, I'm always keeping my eye open for potential new routes & rides. I'm heading out this Thursday for a four day tour to add to my rides that are following the Wisconsin River from it's mouth on the Mississippi River to it's headwaters at Lac Vieuw Desert east of Land o' Lakes, Wis. on the border of Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan. This next four day tour will start out from Fond du Lac and meet back up with the river south Castle Rock Lake on State Hwy 82 to follow the river north to Plover/Stevens Point before returning east to Fond du Lac.
Do you like riding multi-day tour rides or do you prefer day rides of varying lengths?
Again thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Enjoy the Ride.
