A wonderful out and back route starting in Le Bourg d'Oisans. Leaving on the D1091 for 5Km. Just as the road turns to begin climbing take a right and head along the valley on a gently climbing road. A short slightly steeper climb leads to Les Ougiers then descends a climbs again to Venosc. A descent again crosses the river where the road then steepens considerably for 3km to reach a plateau. At the end of the plateau the road kicks up again for another 3Km to St Christophe en Oisans, where the views begin to open out and you start to see some grand views into the Ecrin National Park. Once again the road levels out for a few Km until it makes a gentle turn to the left through a tunnel. Here the view's are outstanding lookup up towards La Berade and the mountains beyond. The road descends to the side of the river where it follows it's meanderings all the way to the road head and cafe at La Berade. Return is by the same route and takes about half of the time of the ride out.
