"Libera te tutemet ex inferis!" IYKYK😂
Natalie and I liked the route we did last week so decided to try it again. Also an experiment for me since I don't normally like to ride Friday mornings since that means waking up early two days in a row.
Since I took off my arm warmers and vest almost immediately last week, I decided to start without them. Looking west, it was sunny and blue skies but as soon as I headed east, it was cloudy and looking like the clouds were getting heavier. Which is the opposite of how it normally is. I thought maybe I made a mistake not bringing layers but it ended up being fine.
I got to Emerald Hills early so I decided to get a pastry while I waited for Natalie. No Strawberry Croissants unfortunately.
Natalie wasn't keen on doing Huddart the way the clouds were looking, not wanting to get "rained" on by the potentially foggy conditions. I thought it was going to be fine and we decided to make the call when we got there.
Through Emerald Hills, it was actually looking a little foggy and Natalie took me on some gravel I hadn't done before. But as we got to Cañada it became sunny and clear.
On the way over, we ran into Philip almost in the same spot we ran into Brad last week.
Lots of deer with pairs of fawns throughout the ride today including at Huddart, which was pretty this morning.
We stopped at The Village Hub today and their pastry selection was a little limited so it took me a while to pick. It took a while for Natalie too and it turned out she picked the same, last, Pistatchio Chocolate Kouign Amann as me!
Last week, Natalie didn't want to do Sheep Camp on her road bike so she brought her gravel bike today. I actually thought it was okay on my road bike and a much nicer way to get back.
We ran into the same (I think) street sweeper as last week and even came across a garbage truck. OH!
