Took the long way round to get over to TNF and got to ride on some really cool gravel roads along the way. Weather was lovely all day and it was a great ride. Had a bit of an interesting encounter with a local while filtering water one of the last times before I camped. I actually was filtering from a really tiny stream flowing right across a little dirt road that I was riding on, when a car came up and a old bearded man stepped out, with a rifle. He was just wondering what the hell i was up to. I was on a public road so I was not concerned, and once I explained what i was doing he was very nice. He owned about 100 acres on both sides of the road, all in pine trees like almost every parcel around it. Chatted with him about this and that before I had to get going, thankfully I had an excuse to leave since it was about to get dark soon. He was very nice about it and he actually passed me again later on on another quiet paved road and waved to me again. I finally arrived on public lands and picked a spot a little off the ridge but in a sorta open spot with no trees to blow over on my tend but enough growth to hopefully shelter me for the coming storm the next day.
