On a fine day 14 loiterers met at Ealing Common Station for a ride led by Lawrie. Following Lawrie were Alec, Bernard & Ivy, Gerry, Ian Mac, Jim H, John J, Les, Liz (on her first ride with us), Michael, Ray W, Steve T, & myself.
On leaving the station we followed Lawrie through Acton and Wendell Parks to a coffee stop in Ravenscourt Park.
Refreshed we continued across Kings Road, through Furnival Gardens to Hammersmith Bridge where we crossed the river and joined the towpath. We followed the river past what was the Harrod's Depository, now luxury flats, and the Wetland Centre before turning away from the river to cross Barnes Common. Once through Barnes we again crossed the river at Barnes Bridge and headed through Riverside Rec. Ground and Chiswick House Gardens en route to lunch at The Bulls Head, Strand on The Green.
After lunch we crossed Brentford High Street, cycled past the football ground, through St Paul,s Rec. Ground, & Syon Park before heading to Osterley Park through Isleworth.
The journey continued across the GUC at Norwood and the outskirts of Southall to join the Paddington Arm of the GUC which we followed to Marnham Fields, Northolt. Unfortunately Steve had a puncture quickly followed by a sec on before he managed to mount his bike. Happily it was fixed and continued to take tea at Northala Park after which the group dispersed.
