A punishing ride. I pulled it from Ride with GPS. I knew that it'd be challenging, but several elements made it even tougher. In some areas, the pavement quality was abominable. I thought for sure that I was going to incur a pinch flat; in many areas, I had to stand to used my legs as shock absorbers to lessen the impact forces on the tires.
The route calls for numerous pointless departures from state highways, directing the rider on to frontage roads or through neighborhoods. I suppose that the motive is to get off of high-speed roads, but the pavement on most of these deviations is absolute dog shit. In one case, the deviation calls for travel through a locked gate.
At mile 50, the stated route departed from the highway and traversed terrain with shit pavement and grades that exceeded 16 percent. After each climb, an enjoyable descent was impossible; traveling at any speed beyond a crawl posed a serious risk of a crash.
At mile 58, the moron who posed the ride called for riding several miles along a dirt path on private property (despite the route having been advertised at "100% paved").
To cap it off, I kept getting the most godawful leg cramps stating at about mile 50 and persisting throughout the remainder of the ride. I have historically had zero problems with leg cramps, so why they've flared up during some of my recent rides is an absolute mystery to me.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
