Blue Ridge Parkway: Peaks Of Otter To James River

Up to the highest elevation on the BRP down to the lowest. What a fantastic descent from Apple Orchard; mile after mile of 30+mph! Perhaps ironically, traveling on the Parkway is more peaceful than resting at the James River Visitor Center. Only a few cars passed me on the ride, leaving me mostly the sounds of wind, birds, breath, the friction of rubber on pavement, and chain moving over gears. The picnic area at the visitor center is a mix of wildlife, people talking too loud, nearby gun shooting, and large flatulant men crossing the river on large flatulant motorcycles.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
