A couple came into camp that had just ridden of the Willapa Hills trail from Centralia. They are going to try to reach Raymond on the same day I’m gonna be heading to Centralia. So we exchanged tips about the trails in the directions we had just come from. The night was the coldest it’s been I believe it got down to the lower 40s. However, there was no rain and limited amount to dew in the morning. Beware that the neighbors cows are very loud and one tends to moo all night long.
The trail from rainbow Falls State Park to Chehalis was a lot better than the section going out to Raymond as a whole. It started off with compact gravel like the ending the day before, and then near town, transitioned to actual pavement. There are quite a few beautiful old railroad bridges that the path now crosses as well as along a river and going through cow and other farm fields. Once the trail renovations are completed with at least compact, crushed rock. The whole trail from Chehalis to Raymond will be fantastic. It was a relaxing way to finish the tour riding into town at a slow pace as well as stopping for lunch. I still got into the train station about an hour and a half ahead of the train
