Ok maybe not polo, but the route did pass the Congressional Polo ... grounds? No, wait, Club. No polo was played, no horses were in evidence. Intent was to ride at least 40 to get ready for weekend ride at the Three Creek Half-a-century. Part of the mileage includes several laps of the soccerplex while waiting for the companion to arrive. But it all counts. Adjusted the route slightly from previous efforts and produced more climbing, mostly because we avoided the C&O towpath (flaaaaat) and climbed a bunch of random climbs. Was pleased that even having missed a coupla roadie rides in the last week (long MTB instead and threatened rain while in NC, bleh) the body felt plenty strong, even on Mont Schaeffer starting at Mile 39. Contact points were all good as well... Ahhhh September after a summer of riding. w/Dan
