Day 5 – Coastal Rides, Castle Views & Hilltop Villages 🇮🇹
Today’s ride took us on a stunning journey out of Riccione, following a scenic cycling path that hugged the beachside boardwalk. The gentle sea breeze and morning light made for a perfect start as we pedaled our way south.
Leaving the coast behind, we climbed narrow, winding roads that led us toward the imposing hilltop castle of Gradara. The final ascent was over cobblestones, with the massive castle walls looming above us. It was like pedaling through history. We stopped to explore the Castello di Gradara, soaking in the medieval atmosphere and panoramic views of the Adriatic coast.
From there, we continued through a series of charming towns and villages, following switchback roads and quiet country lanes. Each bend revealed new vistas — rolling hills, olive groves, and glimpses of the sea in the distance. Frequent stops gave us time to truly take in the breathtaking views and snap some well-earned photos.

• Cattolica
• Gabicce Mare
• Gradara – with a visit to the castle
• Tre Ponti and Ciaiail del Foglia
• Pesaro – where we paused in the Piazza Centrale
• A quick coffee at Palladi Pomodoro
• Climbed the beautiful Strada Panoramica to Gabicce Monte
• Descended back through Gabicce Mare, Cattolica, Misano
• And finally returned to Riccione
A ride rich in history, coastal charm, and dramatic climbs – Day 5 had it all. 🇮🇹🚴♀️🏰🌊

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
