Went along on the Coast and then towards Swords , not into , but towards . So I then went to Bally boghall to get my drnk and a cake to discover that the place was closed . Maybe to be made into a normal house . So just as well I had stopped in Malahide for a cup + cake. I was then going to go back home on the train as it was forecast , that there would be heavy rain in the morning and afternoon . It had not happened yet , but I thought it was definitly on the way . Anyhow i decided to continue on my merry way . This meant going beyond Blakes Cross and then I was really in the quiet country which was lovely and quiet and of course peaceful. I went on as far as Stanmullen where it really started to really rain and the skies were foreboding . Then I tried to get on the south side of the Nanny River to reach Laytown .But , not surprising I headed away . So I stopped this large lorry and he had not even got a clue where Laytown was as he was foreign. So then i stopped this other car and they did what i wanted - they pointed ! Great , you cant beat pointing , its great , and I found my way to Laytown . Arrived there about a half hour too early so I was in time . Apart from the piece from Swords to Blakes Cross the cycle was great and it was great to do it as I thought the weather would have made me go home from Malahide. Also I had originally intended to end up in Balbriggan , and had intended to do about 50KM but I went that bit further . So in a way I was lucky that I had brought the OSI map , as I dont think I would have had the nerve or confidence to go on the alternative , and also to Laytown rather than Balbriggan.
