I've been talking about doing a Tour de Croissant, Peninsula version, for years. Last week we visited Emerald Hills Cafe and found out the Strawberry Croissant was available if you special order it and that they were bringing back Pumpkin Spice Lattes. That coincided with Anthony mentioning he was doing Tour de Pumpkin Spice Latte again this year. The idea to combine the two quickly came together and thus TdC x TdPSL was born. We have weekday and weekend stages in the coming weeks. To celebrate the return of those three things, and already having this Strava Art route ready, it was the perfect way to kick of TdC x TdPSL. We had an earlier start than I would've liked but we had a great turnout. The best part was Ali joining us at the meet point as the last person and declaring, "I despise you all." because she was salty about the early start. Kudos to her for traveling the farthest to join. During the out-n-back parts of the route, I couldn't help but laugh, when I would turn around, at how ridiculous it was to have a group of people following me for this. It was fun. The Stanford Coffee Ride happened to stop at Emerald Hills Cafe and got there just before us. I think the staff were a little confused about who among the see of bike helmets to give the Strawberry Croissants that I'd preordered to. It all worked out and Hong actually paid for all of them, except for Natalie and Ant who'd already paid for theirs. Thanks Hong!
