Last week's ride will be difficult to match for scenery and weather, but we'll try. We start in Danvers just off Route 128 at Cherry Farm Creamery. We'll ride on a variety of lovely roads and stop at Willowdale in Bradley Palmer State Park. Then circle through horse country and the town of Wenham.
GORGEOUS! And the hills were not very bad - definitely an easier "rolling hills" ride, and the pace seemed a bit better than last week. Even the last BIG hill was totally doable with patience, and really not too steep.
Tom: Another great day! From the start we quickly got away from traffic and found quiet back streets. We then connected to a short stretch of unpaved but very ridable Danvers Rail Trail. That took us to the lovely road to Bradley Palmer State Park. We paused at the Willowdale Estate, a popular wedding venue, before making our comfort stop at the park.
With the park closed for the season, we had the park road to ourselves as we exited. Then on toward Appleton Farms and more rural roads as we circled back toward Wenham. We stopped by Wenham Lake for a photo before returning to start through an industrial park near the Beverly Airport.
Cherry Farms Creamery provided a high calorie and marginal nutrition lunch of very delicious and drippy ice cream.
