Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Yesterday was a rest day, but I was still very tired today. This was the longest ride J had planned for me this week so I decided to do it outside today since I was off from work.
I slogged through the first 10 miles. Decided I didn’t care about the pace. There was a 15 mph headwind during this first half that certainly didn’t help. At one point I was pedaling downhill into the wind and having to push only to hit 16 mph. Insane.
The beautiful views of the Watershed at peak color against dramatic skies more than made up for the headwind, and the slower pace allowed me to truly take in the beauty around me. I’m not training for a race right now - it’s ok to take my time and enjoy the scenery. It’s supposed to be fun after all.
The second half was lovely. It included one of my favorite undulating roads in Frederick (John Poole Rd) which rides like a roller coaster. Had the wind at my back, which helped increase my average pace to 14 mph.
I’m very impressed with my partner: they’ve improved tremendously in only a few months, esp since adding strength training 4x a week consistently using a program I created (a first.) Today they led at a 15 mph pace for the first half, despite tired legs themselves. Them being in front was a huge help for me mentally - I always feel responsible if I’m in front. I also know they’ll wait for me at intersections, and there’s no pressure to catch up. (In our situation, when it comes to riding vibes in reference to that couples video I once sent you, I’m the guy racing in front and my partner is the one enjoying the ride. It really is no pressure when riding with them.)
I led for the second half, at 16-20 mph. It was a spectacularly beautiful ride - I’m glad we could do it outside!
