It was sunny. The breeze was light. The only drawback was temps in the low 40s. Lots of people ride in the "cold", so why not try it?
Turns out ... yes, yes you can. Gear: long riding pants (worked great!), bib shorts under em (they're fine, best for cooler temps anyway), dri-fit layer, then a heavier long-sleeved LLBean layer, then windbreaker vest. Oh and full-fingered gloves. Nothing on the head but a helmet.
Predictabiy cool for the first mile, then warmed up. Ditched the gloves around 5 miiles in and went with the regular fingerless jobs. Arms were pretty cool for awhile -- next time put sleeves on the base layer as well as the next layer up. (Windbreaker sleeves are waaaay too hot after a few miles.)
Not sure what would be required for <40° but am guessing gloves may not swap and the ICE neck gaiter might make it onto the neck and ears.
All in all, good ride; forgot about the temperature after a coupla miles (until sweaty hands reminded).
Trails were not the rock-hard surfaces they'd been all fall, but also not yet muddy other than a few troublesome spots that are usually wet when there's not a drought (aka normal weather).

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
