I wanted to go to Fort Ord yesterday but it was too late. Today the storm is heading in so it was going to be windier. I still wanted to go but couldn't motivate myself to go alone. Everyone's out of town. :(
It wasn't supposed to start raining until 8p so plenty of time to ride to get lunch. Once again, the temperature was quite warm - more shorts and short sleeves action. Even the wind was warm although after about an hour of riding it felt a little less warm and I thought maybe that cold front that's coming through was making itself felt.
I saw Ron through Arastradero going the other way. It was funny because we past each other and then at the same time, recognized each other and yelled hi.
The sun even came out as I got to Los Altos and then when I got on to Stevens Creek Trail, I finally got the tailwind.
The Bistro at Shoreline changed up their menu. The burger is now served with shoestring fries instead of the two little salads and it's topped with bacon and an egg over easy. I didn't really care for the egg. It was a little over cooked and in general the burger needed more seasoning. It was a little bland.
I'd say lunch was the weather turning point. The first half was sunny but by the time I was ready to go, the sky was darkening ominously and it even looked like there might be rain coming down in some places.
I made it all the way to Meta before I felt drops and while the ground wasn't getting wet, it seemed to be intensifying a little so I put on the SHAKEDRY. It took about 15 minutes before the ground got wet. Luckily it was very light and it was only for the last hour of my ride. It wasn't until the end of that that my socks started to get a little moist themselves.
It stopped for about 10 min. on my way through RWC and I almost took off my jacket. I ran into Steve on his way to an appointment - lucky timing.
