As bicyclists on paved paths like Fanno Creek Trail, we're used to having to call out "bike on your left" to walkers, walkers with dogs, parents with strollers. But on a sunny day on the Beaverton Westside Trail and the Bethany Waterhouse Trail, you can run into convoys. It could be a mother or father with a stroller, a dog (or several), and from one to three toddlers on foot or trikes. Or maybe it's just several parents with strollers and a few tykes running around. Whatever, it's best to not announce yourself at all and throw this conglomerate into a panic. The best course of action is to just leave the path and do a big arc around them. For that reason, I was glad to be on the wide-tire Ascent this morning.
