Garmin picked up on my rapid recovery from Saturday’s 100+ despite it was to be a 3 hr Zone 1-2 and I turned it into a 6 hr with a good section pushing lactate threshold.
So this morning Garmin listed a 91 - 131 1 hr 45 min easy session. Got on the bike this afternoon and noticed my Garmin phone app still confirmed the above but the 1050 said Threshold!
So I synched the phone and the 1050 and poof… suddenly an hour and 10 min of 181 - 221… So be it…
One of my gripes with Garmin generated workouts is that they start the moment you roll out - the warm up at least and if the warm up times out before one gets to spaces where there is consistent pavement like a bike trail or country road it demands one nail the power despite traffic, stop lights, 180 turns, pedestrians with children.
The solution is to allow the rider to extend the warmup if needed then engage the power and speed portion once the rider is riding in places with little to no obstacles or undulations.
Also the ability to pause the workout to get through gaps in safe spaces to the next safe space to “let the dogs out”.
The first 14 min @ 221 didn’t stick too well as I was negotiating the Mt Roubidoux rough section of the trail with lots of big cracks, gravel, broken pavement and people wandering around.
So I was 4+ minutes into the first interval before I could settle in and focus on balancing power delivery within the range set for it.
4 minutes recovery @ 91 to 131 then same 1st segment again.
Approaching Colton 3 guys I sort of recog from STRAVA flew by heading the opp direction so I pulled a Uturn and chased. Caught them just before the dog park at Mt Roubidoux only to realize one of them had dropped the three I caught. So I flew past them and caught - dropped him about half mile to gate at Tequequite Ave.
Kept the gas on until I got to Jurupa Ave and he was no where to be found.
Felt good today 🦶🏽🦵🏾🫁🫀💪🏾🧬👁️☀️🚴🏾💗👍🏾

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
