I join Nick and Jay on Slough, late because I am hunting for my cold gear. Ron joins us on the route to the Sparrow where we are joined by Steve, Tony, and a third person braving the cool morning, except now it's nine and the temperature has jumped. Nick heads back at the stop sign on Herringbrook, Jay turns at the Genny, Tony keeps falling off the back but eventually Steve and Ron wait for us. Tony and I stick together but lose them on the return to Ocean View and rejoin them on the trail to Marconi. We all enjoy the following breeze on Rt. 6 south, but Tony is finally dropped on the two hills behind the drive-in. The others do all of the work, and I just hang on till Orleans. The trail is quite busy on my return! Groups out for a lovely late morning on Columbus Day weekend.
