This past Saturday, 20141011, we had our first Fall Baddlands MTB ride. Seven of us, (Phil, Dave, Nick, Warren, Rick, Kevin and Brent), launched on a route which incorporates both service / access roads within Mt Spokane State Park, (MSP), and access roads throughout Inland Empire Paper Company, (IEPC), owned property. The route starts at trailhead #121 just beyond the MSP Ranger station and concludes at Bear Creek Lodge trail #155. The first few miles of the journey are mostly climbing with some grades pushing 24%. It's one way to warm up rather quickly! Once at the snowmobile parking lot near Selkirk Lodge we venture out onto the roads within IEPC. Due to being at elevation the majority of the ride provides panoramic views which, filled with the changing fall colors, are beyond words. The weather was quite cooperative with a temperature near ideal. Combine that with the camaraderie amongst good friends and you've got the recipe for a real memory maker! All riders in this group rode extremely well and we had no crashes or mechanicals. The roads are quite diverse throughout from fairly well maintained to so overgrown one can barely tell a road exists. Anytime a rider is in this area they can rest assured that not only is there much to see, they'll also get a great workout in. Good climbing, exciting descents and changing road conditions contribute to a riders fitness and handling skills, not to mention the "perma-smile" that makes your face hurt at the end of the day. Thanks to my friends for a great trip and we'll be planning our next journey very soon!

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time.
