Beautiful day, at Waterville, about ten days after the big dump of snow. I was the only one skating in the North End. I rented skiis, that in retrospect were not as good as I expected, perhaps they were too heavy. They also have a different binding set, called NNN, not the SNS from Salomon. And, used their boots too. It was hard to go uphill sometimes, definitely had to take breaks, sometimes my heart was pounding and I felt a little pressure, so I backed off. By the end of the day, my thighs were burning, probably because going down some downhills put a lot of pressure on them. I was hoping to get one more loop aroud the pond at the end to get a full three hours and 13 miles, but still a good day overall.
