Most of the day was gloomy and wet and then unexpectedly the sun appeared -- albeit briefly -- late afternoon. Rather than get on what Mark calls the BTDGA (Bike That Doesn't Go Anywhere), a short late-afternoon ride before sunset was the correct decision. Because it was late afternoon on weekday, that also meant trying to stay off roads. The woods were ... ok ... but there were plenty of exposed areas that were either marginal or impassible. The county-sanctioned deer hunters are all over the county tree and ag history farms with their small 4-wheelers and there are a LOT of deep soft ruts and puddles as a result. The abort at 2.6 was because of that, followed by a bit of hike-a-bike up the hill on the Two Pond Loop because of mud Once higher and back into the woods, things improved immensely and there was little mud to deal with until about 4.7, when there were more hunter tracks. Couldn't make 10 miles out of it, plus sunset was nearly upon me, so settled for what was there. Not much to report about the body -- plenty of exercise but not lengthy so endurance was not a factor.
