First day of spring was actually warm (March something something lion brrr) and quite pleasant which of course requires an OUTDOOR ride.
Checked out the Bailiwick Connector that's supposed to go all the way to Schaeffer Road but the upper part of it is extremely wet right now and has been for awhile. A reroute is probably in its future...
The phase west of Richter Farm Road, however, is in good shape, albeit with a few trees down. Several very wet spots on the Diabase trail south of Schaeffer Road but otherwise, the Shaeffer trail system -- the parts we rode, at least -- were in good shape.
However the Eagle Scout project at 6.4 to fix a long-standing erosion problem should result in a a reduction in rank of said scout. It was smoothed and "repaired" in November; but the long-standing water runoff management problem was not handled and it's eroded again. SMH.
Kept a slower pace than the last ride and conditioning, especially cardio, did not suffer as much. Though the riding companion did have an epic fail on a log-over at about 7.7 and bruised a left shoulder and thigh and decided we'd had enough. (TL;DR: Log has a u-shaped section you use to cross the large log. Rider lifted his front BUT turned his handlebars and his front wheel struck the right of the section, abruptly stopping the bike. That led to an unexpected dismount in which he, too, was stopped by the log, to the left.)
A direct return to the start was desired and required, but it was still quite an enjoyable ride. For the reporting rider.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
