Another day of unusually warm weather, so, yeah, let's try to get that standard 30ish-mile ride thing going for this year. With a pretty strong wind out of the SW, the route was carefully chosen so that the wind work came first and where a lot of the route trends downhill. Pretty happy to have climbed the 5-step wall at 22.5 without stopping and actually felt pretty good going up it. Sooo much farther along than this time last year. But the legs tired a bit around the high point at 26 and it was quite the relief to ease down White Store Road and then deal with much smaller climbs until the mini-wall on Old Bucklodge at 29.3. THAT one required a stop in the shade to look at it before tackling. {SHRUG} And then the rest of that road was completely out in the open and the wind was rather unforgiving. Very happy to turn north and climb some more. Quite a lovely day with many many trees in full bloom. Great to be out in short sleeves and actually hot. More of this please.
