Started before the sun came up to bike up Moody Rd to Page Mill Rd. Saw a coyote right in front of me, didn't care that I was right there at all! Had a therapy session with one of the best views in the world off the side of Skyline Blvd. Then climbed some sketchy dirt to the top of Borel Hill @ Russian Ridge OSP (VERY windy) before taking a nice dirt descent back down to Skyline. Detoured into Monte Bello OSP on some seemingly unused singletrack trails, then went the hard way up some rocky dirt trails to join up with Montebello Rd dirt section. Climbed the gravel road to Black Mountain (incl the backpacker's camp and radio towers), took in the KILLER 360ยฐ views of the Pacific and the Bay, & then went on my all-time favorite gravel descent ever down the other side of Black Mountain to the paved section of Montebello Road. Descending Montebello Rd was beautiful, but definitely tested my cornering skills on the new bike. Also got to see inside the Permanente Quarry, very sad to see what they have done to what used to be an impressive mountainside in its own right.
Did one last climb up Mt Eden Rd from Stevens Creek County Park, then hit some suburban stroad hell till my coffee break at Caffino off Homestead Rd. Joined up with some friends at that point for a super chill party pace ride to Alviso and back home, turning what was only originally only gonna be a climb up PM Road & back into a bucket list 100km metric century ride!
Definitely an all time fave ride!!!!!!!!
Skyline, RR OSP, Borel Hill, Monte Bello OSP, Black Mtn, Montebello Rd, Stevens Creek County Park, Mt Eden Rd, Pierce Rd, Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd, Homestead Rd, then a classic Alviso creek trails loop
Coyotes, deer, rocky single track climbs, crazy gravel descents, killer wind, and a chill party pace end to the ride with friends
