Joined a meetup for an "adventurous" ride up the CCC trail, leaving from the Tennerife trail parking lot. Started with a grind up a gravel road, and then turned off to become a rather overgrown singletrack with a billion stream crossings; maybe eight that we had to dismount for? Quite a lot of blackberry and devil's club growing into the trail. We touched the Middle Fork road briefly and then hit an absolutely lovely trail that went to Middle Fork campground. I'd ride that section any time. Except for the wooden bridges: they were slippery. I went down on one and broke my front brake lever! Made the rest of the trail rather sketchy, and now I have to replace it (which means bleeding the brake!! AHHH!!!). We returned to the trailhead via the road, which was not so exciting, but it would have been a messy slog to go back on the CCC Trail, and Robert wouldn't have made his 2pm meeting. He gave me a ride there and back, and on the way back we just managed to unload my bike at Eastgate P&R in time for me to run onto the 554 bus, which was wonderful timing. And then I got a Piroshki downtown.
