I just did this to keep in shape as I am going on a real cycle next friday , and getting the train to Monasterevin . But ..... when I was about 2-3KMs from Ranelagh , just a few minutes from starting . a bit of an accident .It was just before the Luas Line at Dundrum and the traffic was bad so I decided to go on the path . So I came to a small intersection and in dong so I hit off the box the pedestrian pushes to go across the road . I know its hard to believe . But there ya are. I fell off the bike , grazed my arm ,cut my knee . I was on the ground and this kind lady came to my assistance , and I would say she was in the medical profession . I knew by her attitude , telling me not to move , take it easy . But she was very kind . Anyway I went on but I had hit my left arm and boy is it swelling , and I would say it will be enlarged by tomorrow . Any way it was my fault by being on the path . So I went on to Enniskerry and then just rode back . But it was quite cold . The next day , Thurs May 7th the left arm was quite sore , actually very sore and it was impossible to put your weight on your left arm as you were getting out of the couch. Sometimes you would forget about it , but you were reminded of it very quickly . 11th May 2026 . I decided today to go to St Jamess for a check on the skull as it was still quite sore , after nearly a week . It was OK for a few hourss and then it seemed as if I had a very severe headache and then it was OK. This of course happened mostly at night time and it was very uncomfortable . I was going to leave it until Tuesday as the Dr said to me to go early in the morning when Accident Dept are not busy but on Tuesday I decided to go at about 10.30 and I was there till about 3.30PM, so I suppose I was not that much held up . The Dept was very busy with every type there. So I wass seen by the triage , who was training and asked all the questions . I had a letter from my own Dr so at least there was that much info , maybe too much , and was told that I would have to go for a CT Scan . So I was sent out and on my way offered a sandwich and cuppa supplied by the Dept . So after more waiting I went in to an actual bed - Yahoo - a good sign . So a CT was taken and examined and examined . It seems that there was no actual damage to brain and the pain is due to a strain on the muscles in the neck and will go away in a while . I was not told how much that "while" will be , I would say a week . So at least nothing that serious happened . Moral is - do not go on path.
