Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Waited until later in the day because:
1. I wanted it to be the hottest part of the day to see how much I need to work on my heat training. It was 82 degrees.
2. Wanted to work on erasing my cyclist’s tan!!
Went back to the lake for the first time in 3 weeks (hadn’t been back since we moved) in order to start getting some hills back into the rotation. Completely forgot my allergy meds this morning so it was super fun wheezing up and down the hills in the first half of this route (I basically did our usual route backwards.) But it still worked bc that’s how I feel trying to breathe through high humidity anyway.
1. I am SUPER pleased with how well I maintained my cadence despite the hills and heat.
2. Per J’s orders, I’m not supposed to think about my speed, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw what it had come out to at the end of the run. I’ve historically been SO SLOW when it’s hot/humid!
Conclusions:
Current heat tolerance baseline could be worse, but I have a ways to go. Next time it’s this hot, I need to bring water even if it’s going to be “just” an hour long run.
