I was having trouble keeping up, and was pretty rambly at Karl whenever we were matched in speed. He put up with me pretty well, and was only pulling past me 80% of the time. :) He helped my space-cadetness quite a bit.
Our first stop was Cartwright's on the square -- Yummy yum. On the way out, we saw Mark's group at Medpark, and we waved hello. Then a couple of crossings later we saw the Burmeisters.
In the distraction and huff-and-puff, I nearly plowed into EVERYONE, especially Becky. I was a little snippy from the adrenalin, and probably needed some new undies. Luckily, I didn't actually injure anyone, and no-one seemed to take much offense.
About 30 mins after we left CRH, we found a whole stretch of road turned into mud and was barely walkable. We had to double back and cut through some apartments to get around. This was fortuitous, because at the same time, I had an emergency bathroom stop. TMI, I know, but thanks to Wheeler Ridge apts for letting me stop in, and thanks to my co-riders for waiting.
On the way out from there, poor Becky got a pinch flat. Such luck lately with flats, but we know what to get her for Christmas! :) A group effort (mostly Karl and Shaon) got everyone rolling quickly. Except me. I'm zombied, and was always playing catch-up (ketchup?).
We tried to find Phil's house on the way back, but were not quite sure where it was. It reminded me that at some point, I want to roam around Hickory Creek, and crossing 2181 at Oakmont seems like a good place to get in there.
I peeled off at Orchid Hill, and went direct home, with them taking Copper Canyon routing.
I'm only at 38 miles, but I think Karl and Sharon will have around 55 miles when they're done -- unless they add in some extra. :) (They always try to trick eachother so they can have more miles than the other. its funny and awesome.)
